How to cool down vacuum pumps in hot summer?

Unconsciously, September is coming. The temperature is gradually rising, which is irritating. In such hot weather, the human body will reduce its vitality to avoid water loss. If people work in a high-temperature environment for a long time, they will get sick. To ensure human safety and improve efficiency, it is necessary to appropriately cool down the human body. The same goes for vacuum pumps, which not only have low efficiency but also high energy consumption when operating at high temperatures. Especially in some countries where it is hot all year round, if cooling measures are not taken properly, the internal parts of the vacuum pump may deform or be damaged due to high temperature.

The motor will generate heat during normal operation, so there is no need to worry if the temperature is not very high. It should be noted to check whether the power supply voltage is stable to avoid motor overload.

If the climate is hot, we can place the vacuum pump or other equipment indoors and ventilated well. When it comes to ventilation, the fan of the motor, as the main heat dissipation component, also needs to be inspected. We can turn on the air conditioning to maintain a cool environment. It is worth noting that some refrigeration equipment may experience temperature rise if the condensing agent leaks. Therefor, having refrigeration equipment is not foolproof, and all equipment should be carefully inspected.

You know what? The hygiene environment in the workshop can also affect the temperature of the vacuum pump. Similar to our laptops, if there is dust accumulation, it will dissipate heat slowly and heat up quickly. So it is important to maintain a good hygiene environment. Some factories do have a lot of dust present. We suggest them install an intake filter on the vacuum pump, which can effectively prevent dust from being sucked into the pump.
