Last year, a customer inquired about the inlet filter of the diffusion pump. Diffusion pump is one of the most widely used and important tools for obtaining high vacuum, usually referring to oil diffusion pump. A diffusion pump is a secondary pump that requires a mechanical pump as the primary pump.
At that time, we all thought that diffusion pumps did not require the installation of inlet filters. So our salespeople were confused about this inquiry. Although many pump units also require inlet filters, this is the first time we have received inquiry of inlet filters for diffusion pumps. Because installing an inlet filter will affect the pumping speed of the diffusion pump, the precision of the filter should not be too high, and the interior of the filter should be as simple and smooth as possible. (Complex structures and bends will reduce the velocity of airflow)
The left picture is the filter we designed for our customers, and many people are confused why the appearance of it is so special. Actually, a common filter (as the right picture shows) was adopted by us, but after seeing our preliminary plan, the customer expressed that there is not much space left above their equipment. It is difficult to replace the filter element even if they can install the filter. After more detailed communication with the customer, we decided to design a filter that can replace the filter element from the side.
The customer is very satisfied with our solution, and at the same time, they feel that we use sufficient materials from the weight of the door, which makes them more confident in the quality of our products.
