Vacuum pump oil needs to be replaced regularly. Generally, the replacement cycle of vacuum pump oil is the same as that of the filter element, from 500 to 2000 hours. If the working condition is good, it may be replaced every 2000 hours, and if the working condition is poor, it is replaced every 500 hours. If the vacuum pump needs to operate for a long time and there is a lot of dust in the working environment, the replacement cycle will be short, and the pump oil and filter element need to be replaced frequently.
There are many types of vacuum pumps, among which oil sealed vacuum pumps have a wide range of applications, such as printing and packaging, lifting, experimentation, vacuum heat treatment, and so on. The pump oil not only lubricates the oil sealed vacuum pump, but also maintains its gas tightness, preventing gas from flowing back from the high-pressure section to the low-pressure section.
How do we know if the pump oil needs to be replaced?
After stopping the pump for a few minutes, check the oil through the glass. It should be light golden. Otherwise, it should be placed. Please note that if you need to replace the pump oil, be sure to clean up any remaining old oil, especially if you plan to use another pump oil. Some vacuum pumps can also be equipped with oil filters. It can extend the service life of oil.
What are the consequences if we don't replace the pump oil for a long time?
The pump oil will emulsify and form a gel, which will block the vacuum pump and exhaust filter element. Due to clogging of the filter element, the oil fumes will be discharged directly to the outside without being filtered. Therefore, if the pump oil is not replaced for a long time, it may not only damage the vacuum pump but also pollute the environment.
