Vacuum Pump Oil Mist Filter

    1. What is the oil mist filter?

Oil mist refers to a mixture of oil and gas. Oil mist separator is used to filter impurities in oil mist discharged by oil sealed vacuum pumps. It is also known as oil-gas separator, exhaust filter, or oil mist separator.

    2. Why is it necessary to install oil mist filters on oil sealed vacuum pumps?

There is a saying in China that “Green mountains with clear waters are the golden and silver mountains.” People are paying more and more attention to the environment, and the national government has also imposed restrictions and regulations on the emissions of enterprises. Factories and enterprises that do not meet the standards must be closed for rectification and fined. For vacuum application, the oil mist can purify the emitted gases to meet emission standards. This is also to protect the physical health of employees, and even to protect the environment that all humanity relies on for survival. Therefore, oil mist filters must be installed on oil sealed vacuum pumps.

  3. How does the oil mist filter separate oil mist?

The vacuum pump continuously sucks air from the container, and the gas containing oil molecules will pass through the filter paper under the pressure of the air. The oil molecules in the gas will be intercepted by the filter paper, thus achieving the separation of gas and pump oil. After being intercepted, oil molecules will stay on the filter paper. And over time, the oil molecules on the filter paper will continue to accumulate, eventually forming oil droplets. These oil droplets are collected through the return pipe, thereby achieving the recycling and reuse of vacuum pump oil. At this point, the exhaust gas has almost no oil molecules after separation, which greatly reduces the harm to the environment.

Now, there are many brands vacuum pump, remember to use according filter elements. As the exhaust traps, we should choose the right one based on the pumping speed (displacement or flow rate).
