Vacuum Pump Silencer

With the increasing awareness of safety and environmental protection, more and more customers know the exhaust filter and inlet filter of vacuum pump. Today, we will introduce another type of vacuum pump accessory - vacuum pump silencer. I believe many users have heard of the noise emitted by vacuum pumps, especially the loud noise of dry pumps. Perhaps the noise is tolerable in the short term, but prolonged noise can definitely affect one's emotions and even physical health.

After knowing this demand, we began researching vacuum pump silencers and have now achieved preliminary results. As tests shows, our vacuum pump silencer can reduce noise by 20 to 40 decibels. Actually, we were a bit disappointed that we cannot isolate noise, but our customers told us that this effect is already very good, similar to the silencer effect of those available on the market. It undoubtedly gave us great encouragement. So we have expanded the business of silencers.

How does our silencer reduce noise? Our silencer is filled with sound-absorbing cotton, which has many holes inside. The airflow constantly shuttles through these holes, and under the influence of friction, the kinetic energy of the airflow gradually decreases. The energy do not disappear out of thin air, but is converted into thermal energy, which is then absorbed by the cavity and naturally dissipated. From the above content, we can know that the silencer reduce noise through the resistance of sound-absorbing cotton. So the greater the resistance, the better the noise reduction effect. This also means that the larger the volume of the silencer, the better the noise reduction effect. But at the same time, it will occupy more space and incur higher costs.

Our silencers are also divided into inlet silencers and exhaust silencers. Some people may wonder why a silencer is installed at the inlet port. This is actually because some customers' front-end equipment has a large inlet port but a small outlet port, which can cause a popping sound when the airflow is drawn into the vacuum pump. In this case, a silencer should be installed at the inlet port. In addition, if there are impurities or water in the gas, it is necessary to install an inlet filter or gas-liquid separator to avoid affecting the normal operation of the silencer and vacuum pump.

It should be noted that users need to identify the cause of noise in advance. If it is due to loose parts or equipment damage, it is still necessary to repair or replace the equipment timely.
