What does an oil filter consist of?

The oil filter is mainly composed of many metal components like check valves, bypass valve and metal nets, etc. But the filter material of it is wood pulp paper, which has high filter precision and high dust holding.

Is the filtration efficiency of the oil filter too low?

Actually, the filtration efficiency of more than 80% for 20um dust particles is not low. And filtration efficiency refers to the efficiency of filtering particles of a certain size. Therefore, when filtering larger particles, its filtration efficiency is far more than 80%. If you want to prevent small particles from polluting the vacuum pump oil, it is recommended to install an intake filter at the intake port of the vacuum pump.

What does “Opening Pressure of Bypass Valve” mean? Does it mean that the air pressure needs to reach this standard to make the oil filter operate?

Not. The oil filter just needs to be installed on the oil circulation pipeline to work properly, and the vacuum pump oil will be filtered after passing through it. If the filter is blocked, the air pressure inside will increase. When the air pressure reaches 100±20 Pa, the bypass valve will open to prevent the vacuum pump from being unable to supply oil in time.
